Commercial Donations
Goodwill Saves You Money!
You can receive valuable deductions on your income taxes by donating to Goodwill Industries. Because Goodwill is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your donations are tax-deductible and each time you give, you will receive a donation receipt for use on your taxes.
Your donations help transform individuals currently dependent on public assistance paid by employed tax-payers. When you donate to Goodwill Industries, you help provide job training and employment opportunities to persons with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions.
Goodwill has consistently received high marks from Money Magazine, The Non-Profit Times, US News, World Report, and Kiplinger’s Personal finance magazine in such areas as effective and efficient use of revenues, worthiness of public support and accountability.
Good Samaritan Program!
The Good Samaritan Voucher Program is a joint effort between Goodwill Industries® and local community groups to help those in need of immediate assistance. Families that have lost everything in a disaster, someone reentering the workforce that needs appropriate attire, and individuals starting over in a new positive roles are just a few examples of how the Good Samaritan vouchers can impact the lives of neighbors in need of assistance.
How It Works:
· Your organization holds a clothing drive and places donations in designated bags provided by Goodwill.
· Goodwill then picks up the bags at your convenience.
· You will receive a $2 credit for each bag collected. These credits are then issued as vouchers in $10 increments redeemable at any area Goodwill store location.
· Vouchers can be given to individuals or other non-profit organizations.
Why It Works:
· You allow voucher recipients to shop with dignity.
· The program allows recipients to shop for exact clothing sizes and other specific items needed.
· Saves your organization the space required to house a “clothes closet”.
· Allows Goodwill to continue to raise funds to support our mission of helping people with disabilities and other barriers to employment to find and keep jobs.
