Goodwills retail program provides for the majority
of the funding necessary for Goodwill to accomplish and grow its mission.
The retail program also employs a large number of workers with severe
disabilities. Goodwill stores offer quality, brand-name merchandise donated
by individuals, manufacturers and other retailers. As a result, the Goodwill
Shopper can find excellent bargains on: Clothing, Shoes, Linens, Furniture,
Housewares, Small Appliances, Hardware, Collectibles, Books, and Recordings.
Incoming items are screened by Goodwill personnel against
quality and selection criteria established by local standards and the
attractiveness of their selling price. As a longtime advocate of recycling
and reuse, Goodwill removes items that are unsalable and recycles them
as scrap material or in wholesale markets.
