Support on the Course

Safety First! Fun... A Close Second!

The Tour de Goodwill is a fully supported, charity fun ride withscenic routes through northwest Louisiana. We provide rest stops, Support and Gear (SAG) Trucks, and law enforcement to help ensure the safety of our cyclists. We also like to make sure that you have yummy snacks because we all know that's the best part of the ride!

Support and Gear (SAG) Trucks

For 2010, we hope to add a few more SAG trucks. SAG trucks will be available to give you and your bike a ride to the next rest stop and/or back to the LSUS Start/Finish line, if something should happen to you or your bike. We try to keep extra supplies on our SAG trucks, but please carry your own spare tubes, patches, or tools in the event of an emergency.

Rest Stops

There are rest stops roughly every 10-15 miles depending on the route. The Tour de Goowill provides water, sports drink, ice, fruit, animal crackers, peanut butter, and other goodies. All of our rest stops have portalets and shade. The last rest stop (same for all routes) has air-conditioning and plumbing.

There are also gas stations and corner stores along the routes, if you would prefer something that we do not provide. Please stay hydrated and fueled.

Emergency

In the event of an emergency, PLEASE CALL 911 FIRST! Due to the large area covered by the Tour de Goodwill, local first responders will always be the best source of medical attention. A SAG Truck will take your bike back to the LSUS Start/Finish area, but cannot transport you to a hospital.

And so that we aren't searching the bayous looking for you, please inform a volunteer of your name and bib number, if you decide not to finish the Tour. Thanks for your cooperation!
